MIEJSCOWA — Newspaper Redesign, Editorial Layout & OOH Campaign
In 2014, local weekly newspaper MIEJSCOWA held a pitch contest to modernize its print layout. My redesign concept won first place, leading directly to an in-house role as Graphic Designer and Pre-press Specialist for the publication.
The project encompassed a complete editorial overhaul, technical print prepress, and targeted Out-of-Home (OOH) advertising campaigns to drive commercial revenue.
Project Scope & Highlights
Editorial Redesign & Systems: Restructured the grid system, typography hierarchy, and section styling (News, Culture, Sport) to deliver a modern, scannable reading experience for a high-density weekly print run.
Pre-press & Production: Handled end-to-end layout assembly, image color correction for newsprint, CMYK setup, and file prepress delivery under tight weekly deadlines.
B2B Billboard Campaign: Designed targeted OOH billboard ads encouraging local businesses to purchase advertising space within the paper. The creative used a sewing motif ("Tailoring advertising to fit your budget...") with a dressmaker’s mannequin built entirely out of newspaper pages to visually connect editorial design with tailor-made marketing solutions.
